David Bethell is a multi media artist and Gallery Director of AirSpace in Stoke on Trent. His work explores what happens when our personal aspirations, passion, dreams, desires collide with mundane environments. He is interested in how these desires are started and why they are started and what has causes them to change. I wish to curate a hybrid of the real and the fiction.
David has curated over 30 exhibitions and events as part of AirSpace including Conjunction 06, Tide in/Tide out, Dizzy Heights and Play. He has also taken part in number of residences and professional development such Harlech Biennale 05, Midwest, NAN and the PAD programme at Longhouse. He also consulted on the Place Space and identity project and the Explore discussion ran by Ian Banks.
David is now looking to give Stoke on Trent its permanent Art Gallery as well as developing his artistic practice.
