Céline has been commissioned by Longhouse to take part in a period of research to develop her own practice and explore new contexts of work through the Action Research programme.

Project

In my practice, I have started to challenge the use of the video camera by exploring the physical limits of its frame through performances. With the Action Research Project, I would like to explore the use of projectors, surveillance cameras, video cameras, TV monitors and different types of screens to offer interactive live video installations involving passing pedestrians. The piece would be shown through the window of an empty shop. By making obvious the omnipresent and hidden CCTV filming, I would like to offer the viewers a possibility to gain some power back over their image and to reach poetic dimensions in the public space.
