David Viney is a digital photographer based in Birmingham. This work revolves around sub cultures within a minority community. Posing a set of simple questions to participants, it will begin to explore the complex nature of identity and multiple identity for members of Birmingham’s diverse gay communities. Working in collaboration with up to seven individuals, a series of images will be created which it is anticipated will play upon notions of self portrait, parody and identity. It continues a fascination with people and places on the margins of society.
